If you’re not familiar with the #100HappyDays Challenge, it’s a mini-movement about finding the positive in every day. Each day, find one thing that makes you happy and post a photo to whatever social media outlet you choose.
As I tend to lean towards the apocalyptic, instead of the happy, this easy challenge is deceptively tricky for me. SO, now that I’m ten days in, I’ve found that I’m starting to look around more and seek out The Happy.
#Day1: My favorite person, blogging, and relaxed couch time. I may or may not have forgotten to shower or leave the apartment all day.
#Day2: My textbooks were delivered to my office. For the first time, it feels REAL that I’m going back to grad school.
#Day3: This is a still from a video I took. I work with some great people; this is a video of them serenading another coworker’s baby.
#Day4: It’s hard to find something to be happy about when you feel like you’ve been hit by a truck. I was feeling horrendously sick this day, but took the opportunity to download some new audiobooks.
#Day5: Finally able to eat again and voraciously hungry, we ordered Indian food and rewatched Daredevil.
#Day6: Every day, I try to go for a 15 minute walk to reenergize and play with ideas. Most of the time, I forget how beautiful NYC really is, but sometimes, I’m just blown away.
#Day7: Besides the fact that this pizza was the bomb, this was a lovely evening with lovely people and lovely wine and lovely men beating the crap out of each other (Mayweather v. McGregor).
#Day8: Have you ever seen so much purple in your life? I’M GOING BACK TO SCHOOL! It’s finally here!
#Day9: Cozy is my favorite word/lifestyle. What’s cozier than tea, blankets, and books about urban poverty? (I’m joking about that last part. I’m not a monster.)
#Day10: Today! It’s raining in NYC, and there’s nothing quite as peaceful as rainy days when everyone stays indoors and the city is a bit muted.
So, ten days down of relative happiness. Follow @lizziehensler on Instagram to follow in real time. Let me know if you’re also doing the #100HappyDays Challenge!
Progress: 10/100
What a great concept. I’ll contribute one taking place at the moment: my dog snoring.

That pizza though… It looks sooo good! And great idea btw, staying positive is definitely something I tend to struggle with.

[…] While setting up this project/blog, I didn’t think about how some of the items would conflict with each other when I try to do them all at the same time. In the past week that I’ve started school, I haven’t watched movies or practiced Spanish or taken any photos for the 100 Happy Days project. […]
