First, Up should not be a children’s movie. My SO walked in on me while I was watching the first 10 minutes and just bawling my eyes out. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him laugh that hard.
Highly Recommend: Up, for making me cry and feel things.
Unclear in My Emotions: Fantastic Mr. Fox, this movie is weird. Funny, but weird. Definitely worth checking out, and probably not a children’s movie.
Need to Try Again: Life of Brian, you need to be in the zone for Monty Python and I just hit it on the wrong day.
Meh: Thank You For Smoking, I thought this would be cleverer than it was. I found the message a little too heavy handed.

So what’s next? I’m feeling a post-finals week movie marathon theme coming on. Star Wars? Horror? Comedy? Lurve? Let me know what you recommend! (Give me your top three! I’m going in binge-watching-style!)

Up really is a sublime piece of film-making and it’s for everyone, absolutely!
Fantastic Mr Fox actually got me into Wes Anderson films, until that one I didn’t always ‘get’ his style
And although I really do LOVE Python, you probably need to be in the right state of mind, for sure.
Good with a beer or two and a silly nature and the more you see it, the more brilliantly ridiculous it is!
Recommendations, from your list, and with winter in mind:
Let The Right One In (Original, not remake)
Stranger Than Fiction (Way better than I’d ever hoped as I have the heart of a writer, it speaks to me in mysterious ways plus great performances throughout)
And you must, as it’s Christmas: It’s A Wonderful Life
You have to!

This is perfect advice, thank you! Although, I don’t know if I can do Let the Right One In and It’s A Wonderful Life on the same day. Wildly different vibes going on there 🙂

Haha, yeah, very different indeed! Let The Right One In is beautifully paced though, and snowy, but… strangely stunning in its own right.
